Why Peace through Language?

Peace isn’t a simple absence conflict. It also involves our capacity to communicate with each other and language is how we do that. My focus is on verbal communication, but I don’t mean just the words we say or write. The energy with which we deliver those words is important, too.

So is the hearer’s familiarity with the words and comfort with the energy. So are the responses the people involved make to each other. That’s why listening is such a critical language skill.

And what makes listening easier, sometimes even fun? Storytelling! Who doesn’t love a story? The rest of this site tells more of The Jordan Center story, so please read on.
